According to the parent event – Maker Faire USA – the event is a “family-friendly festival of invention, creativity and resourcefulness, and a celebration of the Maker movement”.

Maker Faire is an all-ages gathering of tech enthusiasts, crafters, educators, tinkerers, hobbyists, engineers, science clubs, authors, artists, students, and commercial exhibitors. All of these “makers” come to Maker Faire to show what they have made and to share what they have learned.

The Japan version is organized by tech publisher O’Reilly. O’Reilly is the publisher of MAKE: magazine in Japan.

If you buy your tickets in advance, admission for adults is 1,000yen and kids are 500yen. If you roll up on the day, the tickets are 1,500yen and 700yen. Tickets are scheduled to go on sale in early May and cannot be posted outside Japan, so you must be in Japan to receive them.
