The Yamathon is a fundraising challenge where teams of three or four people compete to walk or run through Tokyo, visiting all 29 stations of the famous JR Yamanote train line in under 12 hours.
In teams of four, participants must visit all 24 stations on the Yamanote Line and take a photograph outside each.
All money raised (the entry fee for one team is 10,000yen) goes to NADIA Japan – a group of international volunteers working to help the recovery of Ishinomaki in Miyagi prefecture after the devastation of the 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake and Tsunami.
